A Sample of Maps in the Special Collections and Archives Map Collection.

Map Index

This index provides access to the Eastern Kentucky University Map Collection which comprises more than 650 individual maps dating from 1755-1995.

The maps in the collection consist of highway maps, specialty maps that were done for advertising or tourism purposes, official government maps such as United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the Kentucky Geological Survey (KGS), maps cut out of atlases or other publications, and maps that indicate topography, railroads, gas fields, farms and other features, and maps separated from books housed in our Special Collections. The majority of maps in this collection relate to Kentucky, but there are also some maps of the early American colonies and other states.

Maps can be searched by title/description, cartographer and publisher.
